Numbers tell how many or how much. Colors tell what something looks like. These are basic adjectives you use every day.

Numbers as adjectives (数词作定语):

• one book / two pens / three apples
• first place / second try / third time (ordinal numbers)
• many books (for countable nouns)
• much water (for uncountable nouns)
• a lot of / lots of: works for both (informal)

Color adjectives (颜色):

• Primary colors: red, blue, yellow
• Secondary: green, orange, purple

Sentence patterns:

Asking about color:

A: Is it new?
B: Yes, it's brand new. It's made of nylon.
