丑小鸭

一只不一样的小鸭

Mother Duck has many eggs. 鸭妈妈有许多蛋。One by one, the eggs open. 蛋一个接一个地裂开了。The last duckling is big and gray. 最后一只小鸭又大又灰。His brothers and sisters laugh at him. 哥哥姐姐们都嘲笑他。laugh at 意思是「嘲笑」。

大家都不喜欢他

The ugly duckling is very sad. 丑小鸭很伤心。He runs away from home. 他离家出走了。He sees hens, cats and cows, but nobody likes him. 他见到母鸡、猫和奶牛，可是没有人喜欢他。

• Duckling: Why do you not like me? 你们为什么不喜欢我？
• Hen: Because you are ugly! 因为你长得丑！

冬天的惊喜

Winter comes. It is very cold. 冬天来了，天很冷。Then spring comes. 然后春天来了。The duckling sees beautiful white birds on the lake. 小鸭看见湖面上美丽的白色大鸟。He looks into the water. 他往水里一看——He is a swan now! 他现在是一只天鹅了！
