Happy birthday (生日):
A: Happy birthday, Xiao Hong! Here's your present!
B: Thank you so much! You didn't have to get me anything.
A: I wanted to! Open it, I hope you like it.
B: (Opening) Oh wow, a journal! This is beautiful! Just what I needed for my writing class. Thank you!
A: You're so welcome! How old are you today?
B: 21 already! Getting old, haha.
A: 21 is young! Are you having a party tonight?
B: Yes, at my apartment at 8 PM. You should come, bring anyone you want!
A: I'll be there! Happy birthday again!
B: Thanks, see you tonight!
Holiday greetings (节日问候):
A: Merry Christmas, James!
B: Merry Christmas to you too, Zhang! Do you celebrate Christmas in China?
A: Not really, but I enjoy the festive atmosphere and Christmas music.
B: Yeah, I love this time of year. What holidays do you celebrate in China?
A: Spring Festival is our biggest one - family dinners, red envelopes, fireworks.
B: That sounds amazing! What do you say for Spring Festival greetings?
A: We say "Happy New Year" or "Gong Xi Fa Cai" which means "Wishing you prosperity."
B: Gong Xi Fa Cai to you too! When is Spring Festival this year?
A: It's in February this year. There will be lion dances and big celebrations in Chinatown!
B: I want to go! Can I come with you?
A: Of course! It's so much fun.

Congratulations:

Condolences (when someone dies):

When someone is sick:
