The Ant and the Grasshopper

It was a beautiful summer. In a field, a little ant worked hard all day. He carried grains of corn, one by one, back to his home under the ground.

A grasshopper sat on a leaf, singing and playing his violin. 「Come and play with me!」 he called to the ant. 「The sun is shining! Why do you work so hard?」

「I am storing food for winter,」 said the ant. 「You should do the same.」

「Winter?」 laughed the grasshopper. 「Winter is far away! There is food everywhere!」

But the seasons changed. The leaves fell, and the snow came. The grasshopper was cold and hungry. There was no food anywhere. He went to the ant's door and asked for help.
