Seeing a doctor means describing symptoms clearly so the doctor can help you. Health conversations use special vocabulary.

At the doctor's office (看医生):

A: Good morning, doctor.
B: Good morning! What brings you in today?
A: I've been feeling unwell for two days. I have a bad headache and my throat hurts.
B: Let me check your temperature first... Hmm, you have a slight fever, 37.8 degrees. Any other symptoms?
A: I feel tired all the time, my body aches, and I keep coughing. Also my nose is running.
B: Does your chest hurt when you cough?
A: A little bit, yes.
B: Okay, let me listen to your lungs. Breathe in deeply... and out... Again please. Good. Now open your mouth and say "ah..."
A: Aaaah...
B: I see your throat is quite red. It sounds like you have a bad cold or possibly mild flu.
A: Is it serious, doctor?
B: Nothing serious, but you need rest. I'll prescribe some medicine to help with symptoms.
A: What medicine do I need?
B: Fever reducers for temperature and body aches, cough syrup, and throat lozenges. Take them three times a day after meals.
A: How many days should I rest?
B: Stay home from school or work for at least 3 days. Drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep. Come back if you get worse or don't improve in 5 days.
A: Thank you, doctor!

At the pharmacy (药房):

A: Hello, I have this prescription from the doctor.
B: Let me see... Okay, I have all these medicines. That will be 86 yuan total.
A: Can you explain how to take each medicine?
B: Sure! These white pills - take 2 pills three times a day, after eating. This cough syrup - take 10 ml each time, also three times daily. These are throat lozenges - you can suck on one every 2-3 hours as needed.
A: Are there any side effects?
B: The pills might make you a little sleepy, so don't drive after taking them. Otherwise, nothing serious.
